    • Collected: Site PLiepers Shale  from Upper Ordovician in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
    • Estimated Age: about 450 million years old.
    • Dimensions: scale bar is .5 mm
    • Comments:  Lower bar shows oil-immersion detail of laminated structure from base of element, including helical arrangements of cells.  Possibly a vascular structure?  Contract of photomicrograph was enhanced by taking blank field, converting to negative and subtracting with about 35% transparancy to removing diffraction rings and CCD imperfections.
